National Parent Club of the Shetland Sheepdog in Canada
CSSA Top Shelties By Year
The CSSA Awards recognize the achievements of Shetland Sheepdogs owned or co-owned by CSSA members across a range of disciplines.
When the awards were first established, they acknowledged Top Conformation, Top Puppy, and Top Obedience. At that time, these represented the primary areas for which recognition was available. Over the years, the awards have expanded to include additional disciplines, including Rally Obedience, Agility, Veterans, Altered, and Herding. Beginning with the 2025 awards, breeder names are also included on the plaques.
Eligibility for CSSA awards is limited to CSSA members. When a dog is owned by more than one person, or when the breeder is also a co-owner, each eligible CSSA member may receive a plaque. Dogs that rank highly in published statistics but are not owned by CSSA members are not eligible for CSSA award recognition. As a result, the CSSA award recipient may not always be the top-ranked Sheltie overall in the public standings.
Award standings are compiled using CanuckDogs statistics, with every effort made to ensure accuracy. Questions regarding the awards or eligibility may be directed to:
